The wooden stool from UNC brings us the soul of the world home ... The Duka/ stool comes from a furniture factory in Ethiopia, which produces almost exclusively for the local market. The company founders Gabrielle and Huib Bom travel frequently to Ethiopia to support the people and to work on many new initiatives. The hospitality is very important in Ethiopia - the coffee ceremony is an important part of the social life - while the hostess and the guests sit on the wooden stool/ Duka and prepare the coffee traditionally. The chair wobbles a bit, because you must be able to move without falling ... The Duka is carved from a piece of wood and is surprisingly light. The wood used comes from the so-called Bofofee tree. A tree that grows completely in one year, so it is made of environmentally friendly wood. Each stool is made individually and under good working conditions, we offer you the stool in light and dark.
